What is Reiki

Reiki is a spiritual and holistic healing practice that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The term "Reiki" is a combination of two Japanese words: "Rei" (meaning "universal" or "spiritual") and "Ki" (meaning "life force energy"). Reiki is based on the belief that there is a life force energy that flows through all living beings, and when this energy is balanced and flowing freely, we experience physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Reiki is a non-invasive practice, and recipients usually lie down comfortably and fully clothed during a session. The practitioner may place their hands on specific areas of the body, such as the head, torso, limbs, and chakras (energy centers), or they may use a hands-off approach, directing the energy from a short distance. The energy is believed to travel to areas of the body that are in need of healing, promoting balance and removing energy blockages.
